Recent research has found that music uses both sides of the brain, enhancing all aspects of children’s personal and academic development. A solid music background is a vital part of a well-rounded education that should be available to every young student.

Music for Minors (MFM) is a local nonprofit organization devoted to keeping music alive in our schools, providing sequential, standards-based music education programs for 17,000 kindergarten through fifth grade students throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. MFM’s mission is to nurture in children a lifelong love of music. It is funded by groups and individuals who share the belief that music education promotes individual growth, contributes to strong schools, and increases the quality of life in our communities.
