Avenidas

Avenidas is a non-profit agency that provides tools for positive aging for people 50+ on the mid-Peninsula. Avenidas runs a center in Palo Alto where people can learn a language, attend a lecture, get a u shot or take an exercise class. They can also join Avenidas Village, an aging-in-place membership program which offers concierge-level service on a 24/7 basis. Avenidas also offers transportation assistance, counseling sessions, handyman services and volunteering opportunities. For frailer adults who might have a physical or cognitive impairment, the Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center in Mountain View offers two levels of daytime care, including a nutritious lunch and a variety of therapies.

Avenidas has been providing these services, along with support, information and community, to enrich the lives of older adults and their families since 1969.

Currently, Avenidas is in the middle of a fundraising campaign to expand its downtown Palo Alto center. They are seeking community support for this exciting project to create a state-of-the-art center for area seniors.
